Nights to Forget

Many of us have had those nights that, in the morning, we would love to forget. Maybe for you those nights involve alcohol, sex, gossip, unleashed emotions, aggressive behavior, or time with the wrong people. But do you struggle with making those nights more common than not? Are you finding yourself constantly in situations that do not leave you feeling satisfied? Do you ever wish your choices were better, leaving you feeling better about yourself?

You're not alone. And there is hope for you. Hope in Jesus!

As Christmas is approaching, many will celebrate with gifts, Santa, and eggnog. But Christmas is so much more than that! Christmas is the beginning of God's redemptive plan for the world. Christmas is the celebration and remembrance of Jesus Christ's birth. And Jesus came into this world to rescue us! The Bible says, For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. -- John 3:17 How awesome is that? Jesus didn't come to condemn us -- even though we are wretched sinners. His purpose was to save us!

Now, you may be thinking .... Jesus couldn't have come to save me. You don't know what all I've done. It's unforgivable and I am totally not worthy of being rescued by anyone, let alone by Jesus. Well, I'm here to tell you [kindly] that you're wrong. The Bible tells us that Jesus did not come to save the righteous, but the sinners! And when the Pharisees saw this, they said to his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” But when he heard it, he said, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. Go and learn what this means, ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.” -- Matthew 9:11-13

If all of this is hitting home for you, then I would challenge you to consider trusting Jesus and turning to Him for hope! This Christmas, receive the best gift of all... the gift of forgiveness and life in Christ! And begin having moments you'll never regret to replace the nights you'd love to forget.
